The new Central Surrey Recycling and Waste Centre, opening in September, is a vital part of Metro Vancouver’s efforts to reduce waste and move toward a circular economy.
Located at 6711 154 Street, the facility will accept free and paid recyclables, garbage, and other material beyond what is accepted in curbside collection programs.
The Central Surrey Recycling and Waste Centre will help:
• Increase recycling and reduce waste
• Reduce illegal dumping on city streets and in public and private places
• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing travel distances
The centre, which sits on a 1.7-hectare site, meets strict environmental and sustainability guidelines, and was designed to accept a wider range of recycling materials over time and integrate new innovations and technology.
