Last month, young people from across the region joined the Youth4Action Leadership Boot Camp, which explored the theme: “Think Global, Plan and Lead Local.”
Fifteen youth, including high school and post-secondary students, participated in the boot camp. Together they explored how their daily choices and actions as youth leaders affect sustainability at school and in the community. They shared their thoughts on plans that will shape the future of our region, like Metro 2050 and the update to the Regional Parks Plan.
The event offered students a chance to network with like-minded young leaders who share their passion for making positive changes that impact people and our planet. Students provided feedback afterwards, with one saying they were motivated “to initiate my own projects to make changes in the world and in the community.”
