Metro Vancouver’s new United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre opened in Coquitlam on March 14 to serve a growing region and help with Metro Vancouver’s efforts to reduce waste and move toward a circular economy.
This state-of-the-art facility at 995 United Boulevard replaces the Coquitlam Recycling and Waste Centre, which closed permanently on March 12. The new facility is located only one kilometre west of the old facility.
The United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre is three times larger than the old facility and was designed with commercial, municipal, and residential customers in mind. It includes features such as:
- Separate queuing areas and scales for large and small vehicles
- Enhanced free and paid recycling services
- Large, flexible tipping floor for increased convenience and safety
