Metro Vancouver will proceed with engagement this spring for its draft Climate 2050 Industry and Business Roadmap, which lays out 28 actions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing climate resilience in these sectors.
The actions are organized under eight strategic areas. Implementation will require collaboration between governments and key partners to achieve the goals for the region’s industries and businesses to be carbon neutral by 2050 and resilient to the current and future impacts of climate change.
During the engagement period — which will focus on goals and targets, climate resilience strategies, and actions — Metro Vancouver will gather feedback with the intent of bringing an updated document for endorsement by the Board in fall 2022.
The Industry and Business Roadmap is the next in a series of 10 Climate 2050 roadmaps to guide the region towards achievement of its ambitious climate action targets.
