A recent pilot project in Richmond saw the City work with Lafarge Canada to apply 40-per-cent recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) for a road construction project. The result was high-quality pavement, reduced landfilling, and significant greenhouse gas emission reductions.

The National Zero Waste Council worked with the City and Lafarge to develop the Recycled Asphalt Pavement Toolkit, which will allow others to learn from the Richmond experience and apply the technology in other communities.
