Circular Economy’s Future Explored at 2021 Zero Waste Conference

In the midst of a global pandemic and unprecedented economic and social disruption, the need for creative and innovative approaches to the circular economy was front and centre at the 2021 Zero Waste Conference.

Hosted by Metro Vancouver and the National Zero Waste Council, the 11th annual event was broadcast live on October 28.

The compelling program featured stimulating speakers and moderators, unique perspectives, and valuable insights that attracted a diverse audience engaged in the collective journey to zero waste and circularity, including government, business, academia, and NGOs.

One day prior, on October 27, the National Zero Waste Council 2021 Annual General Meeting was held. Members participated in knowledge sharing and open conversation around the future of waste prevention and circular economy in Canada, and how to best leverage the work and strengths of the Council in moving toward a more carbon neutral and circular future.
