Using a massive tunnel boring machine, Metro Vancouver has constructed a new water supply tunnel deep below the bottom of Burrard Inlet, east of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge between North Vancouver and Burnaby. The 1.1-kilometre tunnel is a key regional project to enhance access to the region’s drinking water system.
