Metro Vancouver is working with the City of Delta to develop a management plan for the Delta Nature Reserve, Delta South Surrey Regional Greenway and portions of Burns Bog east of Highway 91.
The Delta Nature Reserve, the only publicly accessible portion of Burns Bog, gives visitors the opportunity to wander through bog lands and bog forests along rustic boardwalks. The Delta South Surrey Regional Greenway is a trail corridor connecting Mud Bay Park in Surrey to 64th Avenue. The greenway is envisioned to extend north, connecting to the Delta Nature Reserve and ultimately the Alex Fraser Bridge.
This management plan will set a long-range vision for the park lands and greenway, including plans for public access, park amenities, habitat enhancement and nature education. To help shape the plan, Metro Vancouver is reaching out to First Nations, agencies and partners.
We want to hear from you. This summer, there will be an opportunity for the public to provide feedback to inform the next phases of the planning process. Information will be posted on the management plan webpage.
