Solid Waste Management Plan Public Engagement Begins

Over the next couple years, Metro Vancouver will be conducting a robust engagement process to update our current solid waste management plan which was established in 2011. This long-range plan guides the management of solid waste and recyclable materials in the region and includes key goals, targets and strategies.

Through a framework of resilience, equity and prosperity, an updated plan will build upon the strengths of the current plan and identify opportunities for further waste reduction and increased recycling rates, while reducing greenhouse gases and advancing waste prevention and the transition to a circular economy.

As a first step to the engagement process, we want to hear from you about your preferred communication channels, methods of participation, key information required, and what we could do to make it easier for you to participate in future phases of engagement.

Take the short questionnaire today and sign up for email updates to be alerted when future phases of engagement open.

A zero waste future is possible — how we get there is up to you.
