Recent events in Canada and the United States as well as the COVID 19 pandemic have brought the issue of systemic racism to the forefront. These events have prompted all orders of government and organizations to take a much closer look at racial discrimination and develop strategies to address this long standing issue.
Metro Vancouver is hosting a series of forums on systemic racism for municipal elected officials to come together, to learn, share updates and gather feedback on important work going on at the regional level that has significance to all of our communities.
The forums will feature a keynote address by Dr. Handel Wright (UBC professor and Director of the Centre for Culture, Identity and Education) followed by a panel of storytellers. They will be presented in a dynamic, interactive environment moderated by Kathryn Gretsinger, an award-winning CBC broadcaster.
The public is invited to watch the forums via livestream on any of the four dates at this link.
